Training-of-trainers by the Vietnam Women Entrepreneur Council on 'Start your Business'.

In the last days of December 2009, the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council (VWEC) of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, hosted a training-of-trainers course on 'How to start your Business' (SYB).

The objective of this activity was to increase the number of trainers on this subject as well as to create a platform of cooperation between VWEC and other stakeholders such as the trade unions, the Vietnam Women Union, etc.

The first 3 days consisted of modules on business awareness and business plans necessary to start up a small business. The remaining 2 days were spent on practicing the training abilities, on the update of training skills and on workshop evaluation.

At the end of the workshop the participants had to pass examinations on their knowledge of theory as well as their practical skills. Before receiving their official certification as SYB-trainers, the trainers-in-training first have to complete their business plans within 3 weeks after the workshop and they have to conduct at least 2 workshops on the topic.
